Pista Modak

I wanted to offer colorful modaks to Lord Ganesh this year. My husband loves pistachios, hence, I decided to make pista modak. The beautiful green color of these modaks stands out and makes them look even more appetizing. Make these and offer to Bappa and of course, enjoy with your loved ones as well during this Chaturthi. 🙂

What you will need:

IngredientsQuantity
Ghee1 tablespoon
Pistachio250 grams
Powdered Sugar50 grams
Total Time: 30 minutes
Serving: Makes 11 modaks

How to make it:

  • Grind the pistachios into a fine powder in a mixer. You may notice that the powder starts to turn into a dough like consistency. That is OK.
  • Remove the powder from the mixer. Add to a plate and add powdered sugar into it.
  • Add ghee and knead into a smooth dough. 
  • Divide into 11 equal parts.
  • Begin to shape into modaks.
  • Refrigerate for 15 minutes before serving.
  • You can enjoy these for up to 2 weeks if stored in the fridge.
