Burgers are popular among kids and adults alike. On a perfect summer evening, nothing like sharing a juicy burger with a chilled beer along with friends and family. However, the ready-made burgers are greasy, made with poor quality meat which is why I avoid eaten them outside. My husband on the other hand is a fast-food junkie. So, I try to make it at home. Here is my Middle-Eastern-inspired burger. 

What you will need:

Cinnamon Powder1/3 tablespoon
Coriander Seeds2 tablespoons
Cumin Seeds1 tablespoon
Garlic30 grams
Minced Meat2 lbs
Paprika1 tablespoon
Parsley30 grams
Salt1 tablespoon
Cheese10 slices
Brioche/Burger Buns10
For the Slaw:
Cabbage275 grams
Carrots100 grams
Parsley25 grams
Cilantro25 grams
Paprika3/4 teaspoon
Labneh 200 grams
Pepper1/3 teaspoon
Sumac1/3 teaspoon
Salt1/2 teaspoon
Sugar1 teaspoon
Yogurt200 grams
Vinegar2 tablespoons
Ketchup2 tablespoons
Optional Toppings:
Jalapenosas needed
Lettuceas needed
Onion Ringsas needed
French Friesas needed
Tomatoesas needed
Total Time: 45 minutes

How to make it:

To Make the Burger:

  • Mix the minced meat of your choice with all the spices, herbs, and salt. Do not over-mix the meat. Add everything to the bowl and mix the ingredients together. 
  • Divide into ten parts and into burger patties. 
  • Grill the burgers and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. 
  • Once you flip the burger, add the cheese. 

To Make the Slaw: 

  • Shred the carrots, cabbage, and herbs.
  • Mix all the spices into labneh and yogurt with ketchup, vinegar, salt, and sugar.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

For Assembly:

  • Toast the bun.
  • Add the burger pattie on the bottom bun.
  • Add some coleslaw and toppings of your choice.
  • Cover with a bun. 
  • Serve with sides of fries or onion rings.
  • Enjoy with a chilled beer and great company!
