Pithi is a simple dish made with horsegram during monsoons in Goa. It is supposed to have many health benefits. However, this dish is getting extinct with time. I have to be honest! I was never a big fan of pithi. Having it seemed like a punishment in my childhood! However, my granny made sure I would eat it, regardless. She knew that is was good for me. I have come to realize the simplicity of this dish and its ability to keep you full is what made it a regular in my granny’s home because she had a lot of mouths to feed and a lot of bellies to keep full.

- Bring the mixture to a boil on a medium flame, stirring frequently.
- Serve warm.
