I remember the first time I saw an artichoke. I was like what on earth is this? It was at a farmer’s market with my friend Shilpa. She explained to me how to cook with it and told me about this dip that she makes. The next time I went out to eat, I ordered this dip and fell in love instantly! I have made it many times at home since. Here is my recipe for a spiced-up spinach artichoke dip, perfect for those game nights!
What you will need:
Ingredients | Quantity |
---|---|
Artichokes | 1 cup |
Cheese | 100 grams |
Chili Flakes | 1 teaspoon |
Milk | 1 cup |
Oil | 1 tablespoon |
Pepper | 1 teaspoon |
Spinach | 3 cup |
Wheat Flour | 1 1/2 tablespoon |
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Servings: Makes 3 cups of dip
How to make it:
- Add the spinach to hot water and cover it for 10 minutes. Drain the water and finely chop the spinach. You need about a cup of blanched spinach for this recipe.
- Finely chop a cup of canned artichokes.
- Heat oil in a saucepan. Add the flour and let it saute until it begins to brown.
- Pour the milk and stir continuously. Add the cheese as well.
- Add the spinach and artichokes, along with the chili flakes and pepper powder.
- Mix everything well and let it come to a boil.
- Serve warm with crackers, tortilla chips, or pita chips!
